I keep having to write the same thing over and over - figure make a post and can cut n paste as need be.

1. Presentation
Use profile signature tag to market urself and promote awareness
>include website, blog, deviant, twitter and all better be current
>soon when ready for commissions will update line:
"I am NOT currently available for commissions, look here for updates"
when ready to dive in -line becomes:
" I am OPEN for commissions, pm or see rates @ [give location]"
>have an avatar - ur own art

2. Communicate - chat up ur peers, fans, and those who u like

3. Read before you post - read threads like: how tos, intro, look for names of those who have helped others.

4. Ask but dont clutter the board - use pms too for more specific personal Qs - but do ur own reading

5. Commissions - do not undersell or oversell urself
> Build a fanbase - show samples of what u've done - ur portfolio like @ deviant
> How much is your art worth? Check ebay - see completed sales
> Who's art is yours like - find the niche and do similar pricing
> Start slow, low and then moderate increases, have range of options for all buyers
specify material - card stock, or did u go out and make fancy personal PSC
